- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced underserved communities nationwide will receive an additional $160M in disaster mitigation grants;
- Funding is for the construction of resilient infrastructure that is better equipped to withstand climate change and extreme weather;
- The additional funding is available as a result of the enactment of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) (Public Law 117-58).
