Research indicates that asphalt produced at lower temperatures lasts longer. Warm mix asphalt (WMA) also consumes less fuel in production while lowering greenhouse gas emissions. In 2015, the Town of Dedham, MA became the first municipality in the Commonwealth to require use of WMA and they are efficiently maximizing their $1.5m annual paving budget in a more responsible and sustainable manner.
