The "Blues Brothers" visit two chapters

Left to right at the Western Pennsylvania Chapter's Vendor Appreciation Night: President-Elect Larry Frevert, Chapter President Earl Fitzgerald, and Region II Director Howard LaFever

In November, APWA President-Elect Larry Frevert took a "road trip" with Region II Director Howard LaFever, visiting the New Jersey and Western Pennsylvania Chapters. "I had the pleasure of joining Howard for a 'mini Blues Brothers' trip across Pennsylvania," Frevert said. "We visited the New Jersey Chapter's Annual Awards Breakfast on November 16 and the Western Pennsylvania Chapter that evening for their Annual Membership and Vendor Appreciation event. What a pleasure it was to meet more great public works people from other parts of the country."

"We arrived in Atlantic City in heavy fog on November 15 to attend the New Jersey Chapter Awards Breakfast on the 16th," LaFever said. "This photo was taken in front of the Holiday Inn, Atlantic City on the morning of November 16 just before we took off for a quick road trip from Atlantic City to the Pittsburgh area. We left around 10 a.m. and arrived at our destination north of Pittsburgh just before 5 p.m. The car is my 2006 Dodge Charger SRT 8 (6.1 liter HEMI, 425 HP). This is the car I used last year for the One Lap of America race—4000 miles, 61/2 days, came in 38 out of 85 cars, 3rd place in my class."
