Jessica Reeves has joined the APWA staff as an Education Assistant. Prior to working at APWA, Jessica was the Executive Assistant at GO Connection, a local Kansas City non-profit organization that assisted small business owners. While employed at GO Connection, Jessica organized their yearly golf tournament fundraiser, published their quarterly newsletter, organized their weekly seminars, and maintained files on more than six hundred clients.
Jessica is already busy gearing up for Congress this fall. Her primary Congress responsibility is to coordinate speaker communications and organize all forms, data and special needs for the annual event. At Congress, you will most likely be able to find her in the Speaker Ready Room orchestrating the behind-the-scenes logistics for the large educational program. She is also responsible for managing all abstracts from the Call for Presentations and is key in facilitating the judging review process. Jessica also manages CEUs and handles general education department inquiries.
A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Jessica received her B.A. in Theatre Arts and has worked with several local theatres in theatre production. She resides in Kansas City, Missouri.
Julie Engler has joined the APWA staff as the Human Resources/Office Manager. She manages staff recruitment, benefits administration, orientation, and employee relations functions in the human resources area. She also manages the daily office management needs of staff.
For the past five years, Julie was employed at the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America as the Human Resources Manager. While at GCSAA, she was responsible for the management of benefit and compensation plans including serving as a liaison between the organization, vendors and benefit providers, employee presentations, education of benefit plans, the benefits section of the organization's website, government compliance and payroll processing.
Julie, her husband, Dave, and daughters, Alisa and Lisa, reside in Waverly, Kansas.
