Congress purchases are 10 percent less than regular prices
Purchases will be at a 10 percent discount over regular catalog prices, and if you don't see what you want in the Congress bookstore, you can order it in Philadelphia and it will be shipped to you after Congress. In fact, if you would prefer, you can have all of your books shipped to you. Just make your selections and give the mailing information to one of the bookstore cashiers. Free shipping and handling, too-what a deal!
Among the useful new titles you'll find on our shelves are the following:
- Vehicle Replacement Guide, a new publication from APWA's Fleet Services Committee, is designed to provide fleet managers with the basic guidelines to determine when and how to replace vital equipment. This book should be on every fleet manager's "must have" list because of its valuable information on establishing an effective program and determining replacement criteria, developing budgets and planning appropriate financing, selecting units to be replaced and determining optimum disposal methods, and specifying and purchasing replacements.
- Excavator's Damage Prevention Guide and One-Call Systems International Directory, an APWA publication updated for 2001. This essential resource is designed to aid in the prevention of damage to underground facilities. It includes the American Public Works Association Color Code and marking guidelines; a listing of all One-Call Systems in the United States, Canada, China, Europe and Australia; and a convenient summary of state damage prevention laws.
- APWA Equipment Code, a 2001 publication from APWA. Know what you have and compare it easily to other fleets. This modular, ten-digit, alphanumeric system allows you to identify particular characteristics of vehicles, include additional types of equipment, accommodate future vehicle and equipment industry developments, and improve data handling and analysis capabilities. This updated version of APWA's equipment code is a must for every public or private fleet/equipment manager.
- Look for our special "Sample Sale" table where you'll find hundreds of classic and contemporary titles (most in hardcover editions) from APWA and many other publishers at deeply discounted prices.
The APWA Bookstore will be located in the Hall A Foyer of the Pennsylvania Convention Center and will be open every day during regular Congress hours. Come early or late, once or often, but definitely plan to stop by the APWA Bookstore for the best deal in town.
