APWA headed to Louisville

All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go…

APWA’s 2000 International Congress and Exposition will be held in Louisville, September 10-13.

Nearly 400 exhibitors and more than 200 speakers will share their expertise in public works products and services on the expositionfloor and from the podium-all designed to help attendees with professional and community advancement. The most modern public works products and services will be on display, and over 150 technical sessions are offered, which have virtually something for everyone. Topics to be covered include leadership and management, damage prevention, waste management, employment law, and workforce motivation.

And during Congress your education won’t be limited just to a formal setting. The always-popular Roundtable Discussion Groups will again be offered during lunch in the exhibit hall on Monday and Tuesday. Also, this will be the second year featuring Peer Discussion Forums (or Chat Rooms), that will be held Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. These unique networking venues provide an opportunity for practical exchanges on specific subject fields with your peers.

Characteristic of the networking aspect of APWA, there’s also a social side to Congress. Participants will have the chance to make valuable contacts and renew old friendships at the Get Acquainted Party, various chapter dinners, the Awards Reception, and the closing Banquet.

If Louisville’s not on your agenda this year, keep Philadelphia in mind for next September.
