Welcome Message

John Warnement, CPWP-M
Facilities and Grounds Management Committee Chair

As facilities and grounds professionals, we are at the heart of a city’s identity, providing the physical environment that invites our constituents to live, work, and play within our communities. Expected to do so while under pressure to evolve, acting on innovative sustainable technologies, and enhancing operations, safety, and aesthetics, we rely on groups like the APWA Facilities and Grounds Committee for information that keeps us on the cutting edge of our profession.

The Facilities and Grounds Committee is composed of six professionals diligently working to provide education opportunities through a myriad of APWA resources. In April each year, we offer a virtual Facilities and Grounds Certificate Program, produce articles for the APWA Reporter Magazine, as well as a Click, Listen & Learn program. The Committee has the support of its Knowledge Team of additional professionals who support committee efforts by contributing topics, writing articles, and participating as presenters in the certificate program. You are invited to contact education@apwa.org for more information about joining our Knowledge Team.
