Most small communities have needs for additional capital investment in public facilities including infrastructure, parks, trails, buildings and business district improvements. Capital Improvement Plans document these needs and describe a plan for implementation given the anticipated costs and available resources. However, many small communities are limited in their ability to undertake capital improvements in the absence of grant funding. The speakers are experts in what is required to prepare a successful grant funding proposal and in planning for capital improvements. Over the past 30 years their firm has been responsible for assisting municipal clients in securing more than $404 million in grant funding. They explore capital improvement planning as well as grant proposals and how success in capital improvement planning supports success in obtaining funding for important projects.
