CPWA Honours 2017 National Public Works Week Award Winning Municipalities
OTTAWA, ON – September 27, 2017
– The Canadian Public Works Association (CPWA) announced today the presentation ceremonies to honour the municipal winners of CPWA’s 2017 National Public Works Week Awards Contest. The CPWA National Public Works Week Awards Contest recognizes public works agencies from across Canada for the public education and events they held during National Public Works Week, which highlights the contribution and importance of public works departments and public works professionals.
National Public Works Week has been celebrated every May since 1960 in North America to increase public awareness of the role of public works services and professionals in our daily lives. These public works professionals are the planners, builders, managers and designers of our communities’ infrastructure.
The CPWA National Public Works Week awards will be presented at council meetings in the four winning municipalities as outlined below.

November 15, 2017 – 8:00 AM – Rural Municipality of Montcalm, MB – First Time Entry Award presented at the Council Meeting, Rural Municipality Office, 46 1st Street East, Letellier, MB, R0G 1C0.
October 24, 2017 – 6:00 PM – City of Cold Lake, AB – Small Centre Award presented at the Council Meeting, City Hall Council Chambers, 5513 48 Avenue Cold Lake, AB, T9M 1A1.
November 27, 2017 – 7:30 PM – Town of Richmond Hill, ON – Medium Centre Award presented at the Council Meeting, Council Chambers, 1st Floor, 225 East Beaver Creek Road, Richmond Hill, ON, L4B 3P4.
November 7, 2017 –1:00 PM – City of Vaughan, ON – Large/Metro Centre Award presented at the Council Meeting, Council Chambers, City Hall, 2141 Major Mackenzie Drive, Vaughan, ON L6A 1T1.
