Make a Difference – Opportunities for APWA National Service

*UPDATE: Due to numerous requests from APWA Members, we've extended the nominations submittal deadline to Monday, March 27, 2017.

Associations create positive change. Through service at the national level, APWA/CPWA members utilize their skills to shape the direction of APWA and the value it provides its members and the public works community as a whole. Volunteering on a national committee or council is the perfect opportunity to:
  • share your talent, expertise and unique perspectives
  • make a difference
  • connect with other dynamic members and expand your network
There are three types of national service opportunities available for 2017-2018. The links below will direct you to pages with more information about the group’s activities, the time investment, term of service, and how to get involved. The National Nominations portal serves as the mechanism that allows us to create a pool of interested and qualified candidates for service. Membership is a requirement for most national committee/council positions, however non-members are welcome to utilize the portal to recommend a colleague for consideration.

NOTE: People currently serving on a committee or council who are eligible for reappointment must complete the nomination process to acknowledge their desire to serve another term. If you are in the middle of a multi-year term, there is no need to complete the nomination process. If you are unsure, please contact your staff liaison.

Deadline for nominations submittal is Monday, March 27, 2017. Use the National Nominations portal to nominate yourself or someone else.

Questions about the process should be directed to Teresa Hon at thon@apwa.net or (800) 848-2792 extension 5224.
