Leadership During an Emergency or Disaster

Emergencies and disasters can occur at any moment. Public works departments are critical members of the emergency response team. As a public works leader you will be asked (or required) to step in and provide leadership dealing an unplanned/emergency event. This program will provide you with the background on public works as a first responder, how having a mutual aid structure will provide you with support during an emergency, and what to expect in your role as a public works leader.

After attending this program, participants will be better able to: – Provide leadership while dealing an unplanned and/or emergency event. – Develop and implement a mutual aid structure to provide support during an emergency. – Prepare for a role as an effective public works leader.
