MPA TUITION REDUCTION AWARDS

Public Works Administration concentration for those who aspire to become effective leaders in public works administration.
Two awards are available to new incoming students in the MPA program. The awards – in the amounts of $5000 for the top candidate and $2500 for the runner-up – will go toward tuition reduction in the MPA –
Public Works Administration concentration courses only. The Public Works Administration concentration of the MPA program provides public works professionals with the specialized knowledge to make tangible differences in their organizations and in the quality of life in their communities. MPA students in this concentration will study the following topics:
- Historical development of public works and the role of public policy
- Strategic planning, legislative initiatives and rule-making
- Fiscal management, contract administration, project oversight, emergency management, business continuity, and multi-year financing of public works projects
The MPA graduate program is conveniently delivered in an online format, meaning you can earn your degree and complete all coursework from your own home with minimal disruption to your personal or professional life. The MPA program is a 36 credit-hour degree consisting of six courses of six credits each, and can be completed in as little as 18 months. Completion of the two

MPA admissions requirements:
Successful applicants should have previous experience and education in the civil engineering, construction/project management, and/or public works areas.
- A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution OR an equivalent degree from a foreign institution, as evaluated by WES, AACRAO or IERF
- Graduate testing is typically waived, but may be required based upon an applicant's undergraduate GPA
- A score of 550 or higher on the TOEFL for students whose primary language is not English
- Two-year minimum work experience required for admission to some master's degree programs
