APWA Futures Program

Ontario Public Works Association, as the host chapter for the 2014 American Public Works Association International  Public Works Congress and Exposition, is pleased to offer APWA Futures Day to up to 50 senior engineering students. This event is designed to bring awareness to engineering students of the many opportunities in public works. The event is free to those students who register. It is a unique opportunity to attend Congress, speak with professionals working in the field already, participate in technical tours, and get to know local young professionals.

APWA Futures Day 2014 is set for Monday August 18, 2014 and will give students the opportunity to:

  • Attend the APWA Congress General Session and Education Sessions (and get to see Canadian
    uber-astronaut Chris Hadfield’s keynote speech!)
  • Hear Toronto Water’s General Manger, Lou Di Gironimo speak on his career in public works
  • Attend an old-school AMA with prominent GTA public works professionals
  • Tour Toronto’s Enwave Deep Water Cooling Facility and John Street Water Pumping Station, and
