Bio: Graduate of the University of Nevada with a degree in civil engineering . Graduate studies at Utah State University and University of Iowa. Professional interests include ice and snow engineering, erosion control, timber-framed structures, emergency management, and weather impacts on facilities and programs. Registered Professional Engineer in Utah and Idaho.
Worked for Nevada DOT and US Department of the Interior in Arizona, Utah and Washington DC prior to coming to UDOT.
Lynn is a Master Gardener. He enjoys perennial gardens (less work) and raising vegetables. Hobbies include Dutch oven cooking, model railroading, stamp collecting, and history. Family history research is another passion. Lynn also enjoys reading and writing, and spoiling grandchildren. He writes haiku poetry, has published a family history and numerous professional papers. A fascination of how places got their names, how place names change with time and the effect place names have on people has been a lifelong pursuit.
He is married to Leara Osborne.
